ABOUT US
Situated on the North Staffordshire/South Cheshire Border we offer home from home small animal boarding. Offering peace of mind whilst on your holidays or one less thing to worry about if circumstances like hospitalisation arises. You can feel confident that your small pets will be cared for as if they were part of our own family. With 20+ years of experience in keeping small animals, as we have grown older our depth of knowledge, in this field, has grown and adapted. Animal Welfare is at the heart of everything we do. Currently, we share our home with 8 rescued guinea pigs and a hamster, so are well versed in animal care and needs.
OUR RESCUE WORK
We are so proud to work closely with our local guinea pig rescue - The Potteries Guinea Pig Rescue.
We not only offer free pampers to new rescue arrivals but we also foster for them and aid in the search for the perfect forever homes these piggies deserve.
All of our own guinea pigs are adopted from local rescues and this is our way to give a little something back.

GUINEA PIG BOARDING
We provide spacious indoor cages, fleece bedding and cosy items, 24/7 access to high quality Meadow and Timothy Hay, natural, enriching toys, attention and handling, as well as fresh veggies. We offer Burgess Excel Mint Guinea Pig Nuggets, or you can supply your own chosen brand.

OTHER SMALL PET BOARDING
Hamsters
We ask that you supply the cage and dry food for your hamster, we will supplement with fresh veg and scatter feeding to encourage natural foraging instincts. Should your hamster be a social one we offer a play pen in the evenings giving them time outside their cage plus plenty of handling and attention.

Single Hamster £4 per day
Rats, Mice & Gerbils
We ask that you supply the cage and dry food. This will be supplemented with fresh veg and treats and we will encourage important foraging behaviours. They will be provided with attention and handling, if they are open to it.

Single Pet £3.50 per day
Additional bonded cage mates £1.00 each per day
Small Birds (Budgies, Finches, Cockatiels)
We ask that you supply the cage and dry food. They will be provided with attention and handling, if they are used to it.

Took my 2 boar piggies for a pamper with Becki today , nail cutting which I can’t do myself as I am terrified , boar cleaning and a bubble bath, they came back smelling lovely , shiny and so soft and in no way stressed.
Becki cannot do enough for you , she had set them up a little pen with fresh hay and veggies whilst they stayed for their pamper , she is very reasonably priced as well !
She has a lovely set up upstairs for boarding and my two are going to her for 10 days during the summer holidays , again very reasonably priced . She really is a piggy lover and it makes such a difference. Would absolutely recommend. ⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️

TERMS & CONDITIONS
Upon arrival, a brief health check of your pet/s will be undertaken.
We reserve the right to turn away any animal showing signs of ill health or injury, including skin problems, parasites or any other contagious ailment.
If your pet has any pre-existing medical conditions, that require specific care or medication this must be declared at the point of booking with details of their needs.
If your pet becomes ill whilst in our care, we will inform you or your emergency contact immediately.
If we have difficulty making contact and feel a vet visit is needed, we will transport your pet to our registered exotic vets where they will be treated under your name and address and any associated costs are payable by you, the owner.
We accept no liability should they fall ill whilst in our care.
Sadly, small animals, can pass away with little warning. In the unlikely event of this happening, we will contact you or your emergency contact immediately and discuss your wishes. We accept no liability should this happen.
All bookings must be confirmed within 7 days of being made by making a 20% non-refundable deposit via PayPal (friends & family) or bank transfer.
Full payment is to be made by cash, PayPal or bank transfer on the day of arrival.
If you need to change the dates of your booking, subject to availability, your
deposit will be transferred to the new dates.
Should you need to collect your pet earlier than scheduled you are still liable for the full boarding costs.
If collection of your pet is delayed additional day rates may apply.
If for any reason, Wheeks Away, needs to cancel your booking a minimum of 48 hours notice will be given with a full refund.
In the interests of Health & safety, we do not offer cross over boarding.
Therefore, day one of your booking is your arrival date and the last day is the day of departure, regardless of drop off and pick up times.
In the event of an animal not being collected within 10 days of the agreed collection date, we reserve the right to rehome the animal. Additional accommodation and/or rehoming costs are payable in full by you, the owner.
If you have bonded pets boarding with us and we have to separate due to fighting, you will be required to pay extra fees. If separation is due to a new medical reason no charge will be made.
Social media is an influential tool for businesses, as such we have multiple platforms, please let us know at the point of booking if you do NOT wish for photos and/or videos of your pet/s to be shared publicly.
On booking with us you are agreeing to our terms & conditions and being a registered client.
Unlike dog kennels and catteries, small animal boarding does not require a licence.
All animals are left at the owner’s risk.
